Weekend in Stanrod

Tanner, Sophie, and I went up to Stanrod this weekend to help plant our family's garden...Now this wasn't any small wimpy garden that you might be thinking of, no. This garden is 3/4 of an acre, has a cattle guard fence around the perimeter, and could probably sustain at least 10 familes. :) For those of you who don't know, Tanner has 15 brother and sisters, 16 counting him. The oldest is almost 30 and the youngest is almost 2. Realistically, having a garden this size is somewhat necessary to help feed all of the 10 kids still at home haha. And it's a very fun project for everyone when the garden is ready to harvest. Anyway, these are some photos from the blessed event, hope you enjoy them!

Sophie and I getting ready to go help plant the garden. When Ian (he's 7) saw Sophie he said she looked like a robber or something....I think it's because her carrier kind of looks like a bandana covering her face. Haha, got to love Ian.

Here's a picture of the garden after the cattle guard fence was put up. This picture doesn't do the garden justice...it's much bigger in person!

Sally, Brian, and Tanner planting corn seed....30 rows to be exact...that's a lot of corn. The tool they're using is from the late 1800's early 1900's I think.

Brian and Jed watching from afar....

Ethan hauling rocks off from the garden on the four wheeler. He saw me taking this picture and turned his body and smiled without even me asking him to. Such a good camera poser! :)

Ian climbing on the fence

These are Landon's missionary buddies that came for some of the weekend and helped put up the fence for the garden. Left to right: JJ, Bryson, I forgot this guy's name but it starts with an L, Tom (he's from England and now living in New Zealand, he's really funny), Tyson, and of course Landon. What a cute bunch of boys!

This gives you a better look at the garden...this is realistically only half...yes, it's that big!

Shad and Rosie mowing the lawn

Lad, Ian, and Ky building their mountain of dirt.

Just a picture of the green landscape.

Rosie, the ferocious guard dog, haha not really, she was just chillin in the grass watching all of us work.

Tanner making holes to plan squash seeds.

Cute sally who I kind of caught off guard but she looks beautiful anyway!

Some rows of seeds we planted...I think they're beets, radishes, and lettuce.

Tanner spent most of Monday morning and afternoon building this perrenial herb box. Doesn't it look so good! The white pipe is going to have white tarp over it to make a little greenhouse, kind of fun! My husband is so inventive!

Landon finishing up the mounds for potatoes. I didn't know potatoes were so labor intensive...do not try at home haha.

State Track in Boise and our Journey getting there!

We went up to Boise this weekend for Sally and Echo's state track. They both did awesome! Sally did great, winning 4-gold medals and set an Idaho state track record in the 200 meter. Wahoo! Go Sally! And echo won a medal for the 4X4 relay! Yay Echo! We had such a fun time with the family, I love you all! Thanks Rakell and Murray for letting us stay at your house, you're awesome! Here's just a little snipet of the events of our weekend.
I think this is a video of Sally running the 400 meter but I'm not positive, sorry if I screwed it up Sal. I videoed it pretty crappy cause I was so excited so don't mind me missing a few segments of the race by jumping and trying to get people to move out of the way. :) You're awesome Sal!

Sally kicked BUTT in state track!!! She rocks! This is just a pic of her winning what I think is the 100 meter, I'm not so good at determing the races sorry. Go Sally!
Don't worry, this is not how I found them in the morning. They just happened to be cuddling right before Landon jumped on them.
Sophie just loves all her second cousins and aunts and uncles. She definitely loves being held by them too!
Great Aunt Rakell (I hope I spelled that right), Sophie, Aunt Faith, and Rakell's beautiful daughter (I can't remember her name for the life of me at the moment, I know I'm horrible).
Pretty Aunt Faith and Sophie....sadly, Sophie's head almost looks the same size as Faith and she's two. I must say Sophie inherited her large head from her father, that is not from me haha.
The mass amount of bug death on our windshield....digusting, yes, but the sunset was pretty!
Sophie sleeping almost the entire way to Boise. She's such an amazing baby! I love her!
I swear Bradley had his headphones in the entire time...this was like 5 hours into our drive...that pretty much explains his facial expression, :).
And beautiful Brit...sleeping...it seemed that the back of the car got to sleep most of the way, Tanner and I not so lucky!
It was past 9:00pm and I still had to wear sunglasses, that was a little strange, I guess it's exciting though...it means summer is coming! I caught Tanner off guard obviously since he looks so happy :)

Sophie laughing and milk shooting out of her nose!

So I know I've been a little overzealous with blogging lately but I just can't help that my baby girl does funny things and looks so cute all of the time, making me want to share it with everyone! I have to say that this video takes the cake though! Sophie has just barely started to laugh and we finally got it on video this morning. Oddly enough something else happened when she was laughing....yes, it is a little gross but extremely funny! I guess you just have to watch it for yourself. :) Enjoy!

Sophie's First Swimming Day...well really Tanning Day!

Sophie's first day of swimming/tanning. Reallistically, she didn't swim, just tanned with her mommy and some friends. But she definitely looked cute doing it! Here's some photos of the event.
Getting ready to go out to the pool.
She doesn't look too excited but I sure was! I haven't tanned in over a year!
Ally Hoke and Sophie. Ally is expecting a baby boy in August so she need her practice with my baby girl!
Yes, I know you're thinking this is the cutest picture you've ever seen in your life....not! Afton Huntley and Sophie! Sophie loves Afton and Afton loves Sophie, it's a win win situation!

Happy 2nd Anniversay!

Tanner and I were sealed for eternity on May 10, 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. It seems somewhat surreal that within the two years we've been married, we've already moved 6 times within Utah, have a beautiful baby girl, and have never truly had a real fight (haha). I think the non fighting part is due to our dedication to communciation...oh don't worry we disagree on a lot of things and have had our share of arguements...I'm just saying we've never had an all out yelling fight. If we do argue we make up within the hour...I just hate having that angry feeling towards Tanner, it's one of my biggest pet peeves.
Anyway, I just wanted to let Tanner know how much I love and appreciate him more than when we were married on that special day. I think it's truly amazing how you can love your spouse even more then you thought possible. Especially, now since we've had Sophie, I admire him and love him even more for the way he interacts with her and loves her as a father. I'm so grateful to be happily married, have the opportunity to be a mother to my baby girl and look forward to the many years to come of marriage and motherhood.

Smiley Sophie!

This is a little slideshow of Sophie smiling...it has to be the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life! I absolutely love my baby! The bottom picture is my favorite because I can hear the squeal she made during this picture. It's the cutest smile ever!

Happy Mother's Day Mommy!

Happy Mother's Day Mommy! I just wanted to give you a little shout out and tell you how wonderful and special you are to me and the fam. I love you so much and am so grateful for all that you do for us. Thanks for being such a good Mimi to Sophie, I truly thinks she knows you because she smiles at you whenever you're near. I wanted to tell you that you are the best mommy in the world and thanks for putting up with me while I was under your roof and continually putting up with now that I'm not :). I'm so grateful that I have such a wonderful mom like you to show me how to be a good mom to Sophie.
I know this picture is a little funny...but I like it! I love you with all my heart and hope you have a fantastic Mother's Day!

Cupcake Heaven!!!

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I stumbled upon this bakery called "The Sweet Tooth Fairy" yesterday and decided to check it out today to sample some of there delicious goodies. To check out their website, here's the link http://thesweettoothfairy.com/ All I can say is that their cupcakes are heaven!! I have never had better and trust me I have eaten a lot of cupcakes! :) The place is so cute and they make the best goodies I have ever eaten hands down. Their goodies consist of cupcakes, cookies, cake bites, wedding cakes, specialty cakes, bundt cakes, and lots of other yummy concoctions (sp). This bakery had been featured on Rachael Ray, so you know it has to be good. If you're in Provo you'll have to stop by and visit this little place, you won't regret it! The address is 1227 S. University Ave. It's across the street from the Provo Towne Center. If you're craving sweets this is the place to go!

St. George with the Fam

My parents have a second home in St. George so they go down almost every two weeks. Sophie and I decided to go with them for the weekend and had such a fun time! Sophie gets spoiled crazy whenever she's around her Babo, Mimi, Aunt Brittany and Aunt Carly. They just love her to death! Anyway, these are just a few pictures of our little vacation with the fam.

What a precious little family!

Oh it's just too heavy for all of us to lift!

My dad making the family mark on the rock we climbed.

We did it!

Getting ready to climb the rock!

Are you ready for this gun show!

Sophie hanging out in her new carrier with her Babo whose doing his signature 'kissy face'.
