Father's Day Weekend

On Sunday we went up to Fruit Heights to celebrate Father's Day with my family. We had a really fun time. We made an amazing dinner consisting of homemade pumpkin ravioli with a brown butter sage and walnut sauce and homemade ricotta and spinach filled ravioli with homemade tomato sauce (tanner made that), a citrus spinach salad, and for dessert meringue chantilly's with roasted berries and whipped cream. Ahh, it was so yummy, I'm salivating just thinking about it. I was too busy eating to take any pictures, sorry. After that overly large dinner we had to go on a walk...Tanner and Sophie stayed behind because she was taking a nap and someone of course has to tend her. Anyway, here's some pictures of our day. Sydney Wray Lindsey's Wedding Reception

New Videos of Sophie!

Here's some of the newest videos of Sophie from the past couple of weeks. The first one is of her laughing really well, the second is her rolling over for the first time from her tummy to her back, and the last is her first time eating rice cereal. They're really cute so be sure to watch them!

Sophie has just started to laugh louder and longer lately. She can pretty much laugh and smile on command now. This just shows how well she's progressing!

My adorable baby girl. I think this video is funny because she is trying so hard to roll over. She gets about half way and then can't get any furthur without being a little frustrated, she's so adorable to watch!

Suprisingly, she actually somewhat seems to like the rice cereal, don't ask me why, I tried it and its blah. She just makes the funniest face when she's had enough.

Happy 75th Birthday Nonni!

I wanted to give a shout out to my wonderful Nonni and wish her a Happy 75th Birthday on June 6. My Nonni is the most wonderful woman I have ever met. She's kind, nurturing, loving, an awesome cook, strong, dedicated, a wonderful wife and mother, and the best grandma in the world! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to spend as much time with her as I have wanted to since she lives back in Connecticut where all my relatives live. We moved when I was six. However, I cherish the memories that I have with her growing up these past 20 years of my life.
I remember the funny things she would say to me when I was little, "Chew, chew, chew", or "Who wants an ice cream sundae?" Without fail whenever we come visit she has her freezer stocked with ice cream, fudgsicles, popcicles, you name it. Oh my and her Chicken Divan I live for haha. If you don't know what chicken divan is then too bad for you. And I love how she cuts up candy bars haha, that always made me laugh.

Even though I don't drink coffee I remember waking up every morning when we visited and smelling coffee brewing in the kitchen. I love that smell, it always reminds me of my Nonni. I have learned so much from her looking back at my life. She has put up with so much her entire life and has dealt with it with such class and grace. I mean she raised my dad haha, jk dad.

Non, I just want to tell you that I love you so much and how much you mean to me. You have been one of the many guiding stars in my life and I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. I regret the time that we've missed but look forward to the many years to come. I think it's so fun that I was your first grandchild and now in July you'll be able to meet your first great-grandchild Sophie. Thank you for being so supportive over the past two years with Tanner and I, for helping me with problems that I had or just being a shoulder to cry on when I was "down and troubled" (James Taylor lyrics) haha. I know that you'll be there for me whenever I need you and I am so glad to know that. Sorry I haven't called in awhile, things have been a little busy but that's no excuse. I hope you and Pop Pop have a wonderful time celebrating your birthday. You are a strong and gorgeous woman and I love you with all of my heart Nonni.

Weekend in Stanrod

Tanner, Sophie, and I went up to Stanrod this weekend to help plant our family's garden...Now this wasn't any small wimpy garden that you might be thinking of, no. This garden is 3/4 of an acre, has a cattle guard fence around the perimeter, and could probably sustain at least 10 familes. :) For those of you who don't know, Tanner has 15 brother and sisters, 16 counting him. The oldest is almost 30 and the youngest is almost 2. Realistically, having a garden this size is somewhat necessary to help feed all of the 10 kids still at home haha. And it's a very fun project for everyone when the garden is ready to harvest. Anyway, these are some photos from the blessed event, hope you enjoy them!

These are Landon's missionary buddies that came for some of the weekend and helped put up the fence for the garden. Left to right: JJ, Bryson, I forgot this guy's name but it starts with an L, Tom (he's from England and now living in New Zealand, he's really funny), Tyson, and of course Landon. What a cute bunch of boys!

Tanner spent most of Monday morning and afternoon building this perrenial herb box. Doesn't it look so good! The white pipe is going to have white tarp over it to make a little greenhouse, kind of fun! My husband is so inventive!

State Track in Boise and our Journey getting there!

We went up to Boise this weekend for Sally and Echo's state track. They both did awesome! Sally did great, winning 4-gold medals and set an Idaho state track record in the 200 meter. Wahoo! Go Sally! And echo won a medal for the 4X4 relay! Yay Echo! We had such a fun time with the family, I love you all! Thanks Rakell and Murray for letting us stay at your house, you're awesome! Here's just a little snipet of the events of our weekend.

I think this is a video of Sally running the 400 meter but I'm not positive, sorry if I screwed it up Sal. I videoed it pretty crappy cause I was so excited so don't mind me missing a few segments of the race by jumping and trying to get people to move out of the way. :) You're awesome Sal!

Pretty Aunt Faith and Sophie....sadly, Sophie's head almost looks the same size as Faith and she's two. I must say Sophie inherited her large head from her father, that is not from me haha.
The mass amount of bug death on our windshield....digusting, yes, but the sunset was pretty!

It was past 9:00pm and I still had to wear sunglasses, that was a little strange, I guess it's exciting though...it means summer is coming! I caught Tanner off guard obviously since he looks so happy :)
